Fantasy Football

Our fantasy football league met this morning for the draft. It was great sitting around the table with friends. It was an offline draft. The fun begins with the first NFL game. To all of you fantasy players... good luck! I wish you well.

The First Full Day

My daughter started her first full day of Kindergarten this morning. Everything is new to her. For the past two weeks, she has gone on Fridays for a half day. The first day was not-so-good. The second day was better. Today... she went in like a trooper. The assembly this morning was new to her. She had not been in that setting as of this morning, but she went right in and had a seat and then transferred over to her classroom. I am proud of her. She is going to do great.

Power Tools and Me

Tonight has been a night of repairing my closet. Last night I hung some shirts up in my closet and walked out. While I was brushing my teeth I heard a crash. I went back to my closet to find my wire shelves lying on the floor. The wait of the clothes plus books lying on the shelf above pulled the whole shelving unit out of the wall crashing down on the shelves below collapsing them as well. Needless to say, I am repairing the closet. Jenny completely removed everything from the closet today and I am starting from scratch. We are installing a new unit plus painting. Home project here we come! Pray for me... there could be power tools involved!

Happy Birthday (to me!)

And so it is thirty eight years later. I am blessed by God. He has done great things. I am thankful!

Tuesday!

Today has been busy... It started out by having my oldest at the orthodontist at 7:45 AM. We found out we have to extract five teeth... that's the bad news! The good news is... she might not need braces. Hallelujah! The day has been filled with errands, phone calls, follow-ups, meetings, and lunch with my parents (awesome, by the way!). Youth service is tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to being in service with the students. It's been a great day, but I'm looking forward to home tonight. Later.

Weekend Memoirs

It's been a great weekend with the family. We went a fed the ducks at Memorial Park yesterday after eating at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. We've been hanging out around the house today in between Sunday services. The girls have been playing the Wii and occasionally climbing on me while I'm resting (oh well). We have prayer tonight at 6:00 PM. If you happen to read this, come on out. We would love to have you tonight.

Kindergarten

Rylie (my third daughter) started Kindergarten today. It was a big day for the Morris home. We took the whole family this morning. Pictures were taken, the classroom was visited... it was the works. We were excited; however, Rylie... not so much. She had a few separation issues this morning, but it got better as the day went on. Give her some time, she will be a great student.

I realized today that we are creatures of habit. We get use to a routine. When the routine is interrupted it's hard on all who are involved. I can relate because I have a routine. I can only imagine what this five year old is thinking. As a parent, it's going to take patience and understanding. I am proud of her and I know she is going to do well.

God Is Good!

God is good! I am thankful for what He has done in my life and what He is going to do in my life. God has plans for you. You have to be willing to embrace them. It begins with acknowledging that God is good... good to YOU! Stay in faith and watch what will be. Remember... He's good.

Simply Amazing!

School starts tomorrow. I can't believe my oldest will be in the 5th grade; plus, I have one starting kindergarten. Simply amazing!

The summer has gone by at supersonic speed. The summer started out with our trip to Ecuador and ended with our Fine Arts trip to Charlotte, NC. In between has been a whirlwind. It makes me think how important time is. We all have the same amount in a day. 24 hours. 1,440 minutes. 86,400 seconds. Where does it all go? What do we have at the end of our day? I pray we all have something of substance we are building. I hope you are fulfilling God's dream for your life. Don't waste the time you have been given... invest!

It seems like yesterday... our first was born!

No Sleep at Fine Arts

Fine Arts officially begins in a couple of hours. We left last night or should I say this morning at midnight. We got into Charlotte about 9:00 AM. Registration took awhile, along with getting our parking passes from across town. We finally made it to lunch and then into our hotel room. Many of us have been sleeping.. making up for last night's loss. The opening service kicks off at 7:00 PM. Planetshakers will be leading worship. I'm looking forward to that. I will keep you updated on our students' progress. I will post a schedule later on this evening.

2008 Tennessee Pow Wow

I went to the Tennessee Pow Wow today and spent a little time visiting with long time friends from across the state. My first Pow Wow was in 1980. I know what you're thinking... that was a long time ago... and yeah, your right, and yet I still enjoy going. There were probably 300 boys in attendance this year. They have all kinds of events for them throughout the weekend. They play paintball, shoot AR15's, arcade, classes on making Indian crafts, go-carts, etc. They also had an Apache helicopter land yesterday for the boys to view. I went up to be a part of the trading post they do every year. I collect Royal Ranger patches. It's a good place to trade or buy. There are all kinds of patches at the trading post. If you are interested in RR patches, there is a new website still under construction but viewable. They are adding to it everyday. Check it out here.
